When asked to name a country starting with 'D', my first thought is generally 'Dominican Republic'. When asked for another, I think 'Deutschland', then 'Denmark', and then 'Djibouti'. None of these require much thought for me.

It seems, though, that you can safely assume that Americans will think Denmark first. At any rate, there's a fairly wide-spread game thingy that makes that assumption:
'Write down a country starting with "d", then write down an animal that starts with the second letter of that country, and then write down the colour of that animal. [pause] You have a grey elephant from Denmark.'

I first saw this on Zoom season 2 (1990s version), and my first thought was something along the lines of 'Good thing they had Claudio being the GM rather than a player'.

'Cause Claudio is from the Dominican Republic.

Strange none of his friends were influenced by that fact.

(I never think of 'Dominica'. Had I asked for a fifth, I'd have been stuck for a while. 'Democratic Republic of the Congo' probably would have been my next one.)

I just watched a few bits of the new Bionic Woman.

What an incredibly bad show.

Acting: Really, really bad. And over-dramatic. But this is partly the fault of:

Diretion: Really, really bad. Or maybe this is just what happens when you hire a bunch of non-actors to perform scripts written by a bunch of non-writers.

The mission: investigate the claim that the Great Pyramid of Giza is roughly 146 meters tall.
The method: In the famous Mythbusters tradition, I will attempt to replicate the feat myself. If I don't succeed within ten minutes, the myth will be busted.

Step one: I'll take the blocks from there and pile them over here.

After roughly fifteen minutes of non-stop construction, my pyramid is as big as it's going to get. The time limit has been reached.

I've never visited Egypt, but I imagine it must be something like this.

Alas, after fifteen minutes of construction, the pyramid is not even two meters tall. This proves conclusively that if the Great Pyramid of Giza exists, it's a lot shorter than people claim. Probably just a lie the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism likes to spread.

Wikipedia claims that the Great Pyramid of Giza stood 146.6 meters tall when the Egyptians built it in 2570bce.

Convinced this was a myth, I headed outside and attempted to construct such a pyramid of my own. After over ten minutes of trying, however, my attempt at a perfect replica was still under two meters heigh. Thus, we now have scientific proof that the Great Pyramid of Giza does not exist, or that if it does, it's a lot shorter than they claim.

Another myth busted. Now where's my tv series?

I just asked my sister 'What would you say if I read every word in the libary?' She didn't respond (verbally), so I continued. 'Every word? That's not infinity!'

Okay, so you never saw Square One TV (and even if you did, you wouldn't go up to people and start reciting lyrics from it twenty years later), and they're too lame to release it on DVD, but sexy people have posted it online. YouTube has stuff from Square One TV. It tends to be poor quality taken from old VHS tapes, but who cares? It's Square One TV, man! 321 Contact! Classic Sesame Street! Maybe even some Newton's Apple? I must go check!

Copyvios are immoral. Not releasing this stuff, though, constitutes cruel (though usual) punishment. I DEMAND SQUARE ONE TV!

'Infinity' was /The Jets/, by the way, but I doubt you ever saw /it/ on MTV.
